Bond to fund
Bond to fund colleges in doubt
The auto tech shop at De Anza College in Cupertino looks much as it did when instructor Michael Brandt took his classes there in 1968. Sure, it now has five classrooms instead of one, fashioned by converting a closet and erecting a wall. But the concrete floor still has the same epoxy coating, now peeling in spots. The auto shop is still waiting for heating and air conditioning. And Brandt would like to get more storage, so the shop equipment doesn't have to sit in cargo containers.
